A Milestone Update of the Platform: Enriched Reports & New Price Rules
It’s October outside and we’re excited to announce another platform update for this month! To recap, several weeks ago we introduced a redesigned UI aiming to improve the platform’s UX. Today, it’s the turn for functionality complement. For this purpose, our team of tech engineers has done great work on the backend development of the platform. The scope of this update covers the amendment of the platform’s server logic, power-ups of reports capabilities that include dimension advancement, and the introduction of a brand new Price Rules section. Let’s see how you can benefit from the changes.
Key Updates
TheViewPoint’s philosophy is about sticking to the best transparency practices. For this reason, we are constantly working on the implementation of the latest technical updates.
Tracking & Metrics
Now we provide publishers with access to detailed information about the full flow of serving and bidding metrics and with more granular dimensions due to:
- a better-specified breakdown on locations (errors specification)
- extended statistics
- enhanced events tracking capabilities
These novelties facilitate the collection of refined data from reports and now users can see information about the reasons why their campaigns didn’t succeed. For this, our analytics indicate if there actually was an auction for a concrete impression held, and if so, then how many failures there were and who succeeded.
It’s now possible to see if a bid successfully passed a filter and why it was declined if that’s the case. New metrics provide more transparency and a better understanding of troubleshooting options due to a clear and plain funnel of events within a bid track. So the key value here is about the ability to define the exact source of a bid’s misfires and the ability to solve them. With this, publishers can calibrate their ad inventory selling process at its best.
There’s more to say, so besides reconfiguring the present metrics, now users can utilize new ones on the platform. It brings the processing of more data so publishers can better understand what settings can be fine-tuned to achieve higher revenue.
Other new metrics indicate the flow of incoming requests for impressions such as ad calls, pre-bid blocks, opportunities or missed opportunities, auctions, or impressions. And we added an option to apply such flow metrics for standalone campaigns. To consolidate the success, we’ve also amended the logic of events tracking to provide more granular results.
Price Rules
Welcome a new section on TheViewPoint — Price Rules. It provides publishers with a super flexible instrument of precise control over inventory pricing. By adjusting rich targeting conditions of the rule, publishers can select a very specific part of their inventory depending on traffic preferences and set bid-floor rates based on their business or optimization needs.
What’s next?
We’ll keep on applying the best practices to deliver ultimate transparency and easy-to-read analytic reports for publishers to make their journey on the platform both result-oriented and comfortable.
